When a new user is registered in the server a default password has to be given. The password can be company specific and a first time default password of "12345678" or else date of registration of the user "11092001"(mmddyyyy).In this case the user id can be stored in a directory with proper OS User Access Permission. Here there is a safety issue , if the intruder has access to the id files then your not

es server will be definetly hacked. A Safer way is to have Random passwords for the user say "1xrtyugh" but where to store this password. For this a Notes Database can be created with the Employee details etc., and the file stored in a Rich Text Field, below the file the Random password can be keyed in. The Datbase will have the Lotus Notes Security built into it can be backed up as regular notes data.
