Ever wondered how to run a Shockwave file in your Notes Client without the Shock wave software installed on your machine. Here is a way which is already available in your client environment, but not easy to locate.

The usual way is to put the file as an attachment in a document and launch it on open, but for Shock wave files, you have to have the software installed on your machine.

Another interesting, simpler, easier (for both the developers and users) is described below.

Code

1. Open your Form/ Mail memo document (or anything where you can embed an object).

2. Create menu - object - control (Radio Button) - select Shockwave flash object (from the list) - ok. A shockwave control is embedded on to your document/form.

3. (Initially the control will not be visible, so use your cursor to locate it by moving from left to right). A new menu called Applet appears. Select Applet - Show Property Pages - specify the URL (say, c:MyFileShockfile.swf) - select other custom settings. ok.

4. Thats all you have to do. Now you can see the Shockwave file running beautifully on your notes client.
