For view columns in Notes, we have the facility to hide columns. But once the view column is hidden, you can't process, or sort, that column because it is hidden.

The four steps below show how you can hide a view column and still use that column to sort. This is quite useful for sorting dates. if you like, you can keep this view column to sort based on the user preference.

1) In the view column properties, go to the Font tab.
2) Select the font type as "Script".
3) Save the view.
4) Open the view in the Notes client. The value associated with the view column is not shown, so in essence the view column is hidden.

Note: The view column will not be hidden on the Web. It works only on Notes.
