Backup local address books on server

This tip describes how to backup local address books on server.

When a hardrive crashes some files are lost forever. Among all files the local names.nsf is har to tell the users that it's lost and they have to redo it. To fix backups for all users addressbooks do the following.

  1. Create a new database on the server (empty)
  2. Create a form nand add one richtext field in it.
  3. Create a memo to send to your users and add a button (add the code below as a formula)

When the users press the button their names.nsf is copied to the database. Do not forget to change the ACL to they can attach files. If some are using 4.6 just change the path in the formula

@Command([Compose];"Server" : "Database.NSF"; "Field"); @Command([EditInsertFileAttachment]; "c:\\lotus\\notes\\data\\names.nsf"; namesbup)
