Controlling The "From" Field Through Customised Mail Function

Just like some of you, i hate to see the mails generated by the scheduled agent
coming to my users mail box with the server name as the sender ( From field ).
Creating special ID to sign the agent will be tedious, having to cater for
multiple agents and agent security. Also, you may want to customised the from
fields to show different names based on type workflow.

Now, you can control what the recipients see in the mail header by using this
SendMemo() function instead of the usual doc.Send()

If you are a perfectionist, error trapping can be introduced within the
function to return error code so that your agent could retry at a later time.
Sub SendMemo( memo As NotesDocument )

Dim session As New NotesSession
Dim thisdb As NotesDatabase
Dim mailbox As NotesDatabase

Set thisdb = session.CurrentDatabase
Set mailbox = New NotesDatabase( thisdb.server, "mail.box" )

memo.recipients = Evaluate( "SendTo:CopyTo:BlindCopyTo",memo )
memo.PostedDate = Now

Call memo.save( True, False )
Call memo.CopyToDatabase( mailbox )

End Sub

'Sample calling code ( from a hotspot button ):
'----------------------------------------------

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim session As New NotesSession
Dim db As NotesDatabase
Dim doc As NotesDocument

Set db = session.CurrentDatabase
Set doc = New NotesDocument ( db )

'Initialize fields .......
'Required fields:
doc.Form = "Memo"
doc.From = "Guess Who?"
doc.SendTo = "Danny Kong"
doc.Subject = "..."
'Optional fields:
doc.CopyTo = "James Tan"
doc.BlindCopyTo = "Stephanie Lee"
doc.ReplyTo = "somebody@dannykong.com"

'Send the document
Call sendmemo( doc )

'Delete the sent document( if required )
Call doc.Remove( True )

End Sub
