I had set up a number of e-mail rules to deal with some automated system messages and spam that I regularly receive. One day, they stopped working. Lotus pondered the problem for over a month and came up with this solution. It worked!

Perform the following steps in sequence:
- Enable all of the rules.
- Disable all of the rules.
- Delete all of the rules.
- Create a dummy rule that is enabled when created.
- Disable that dummy rule.
- Delete that dummy rule.
- Recreate the rules that the user would like making sure that they are enabled when they are created.
