Simple way to avoid the dialog list synonym blues

This tip drescribes how to avoid problems with list synonyms.

When using synonyms in a Dialog List field the synonyms will be displayed in a view when in reality you might want to see the values displayed when looking at the field on the form. The solution suggested in the Notes help pages suggest a "backwards" translation in the column for the view. Not elegant. Instead create a hidden text field that is editable. In the Querysave event get the value from the original field and store it in the hidden field. Use the hidden field in the view.

Sub Querysave(Source As Notesuidocument, Continue As Variant)
Call source.FieldSetText("DescriptionHide",source.FieldGetText("Description"))
End Sub
