Update Children Documents

Script Agent to update children based on change in parent. I use this agent to
keep the employee names updated for all response documents in a training
database.
Sub Initialize
Dim session As New NotesSession
Dim db As NotesDatabase
Dim view As NotesView
Dim doc As NotesDocument
Dim parentDoc As NotesDocument
'For use with the document being updated
Dim varFullName As Variant
'For use with the parent-reference document
Dim varParFullName As Variant

Set db = session.CurrentDatabase
'The view where the documents are listed
Set view = db.GetView( "EmpListEmp" )
Set doc = view.GetFirstDocument
'Do all the documents in the view
Do Until doc Is Nothing
'only check the response documents
If doc.IsResponse Then
varFullName = doc.employeefullname
'get the parent document and keep going until the top parent doc is accessed
Set parentDoc = view.GetParentDocument( doc )
Do Until Not parentDoc.IsResponse
Set parentDoc = view.GetParentDocument( parentDoc )
Loop
'When the parent doc is reached get the vars to check
varParFullName = parentDoc.employeefullname
'If the names dont match update based on parent
If varFullName(0) <> varParFullName(0) Then
doc.employeefullname = varParFullName(0)
doc.LastName = parentDoc.LastName
doc.FirstName = parentDoc.FirstName
doc.MI = parentDoc.MI
doc.SrN = parentDoc.SrN
'save the doc however you need to
Call doc.Save( True, True )
End If
End If
Set doc = view.GetNextDocument(doc)
Loop
End Sub
