Suppose you have two frames in a frameset namely frame1 and frame2. You have field1, field2 in frame1 and field3, field4 in frame2. When field1 in frame1 changes, you want to update field3 in frame2. In this example, I will put the content of field1 in field3 but you can try some other complicated stuff too. I am going to put the following code On Change event of field1 in frame1.
parent.frames["frame2"].document.forms[0].field3.value=document.forms[0].field1.value
parent.frames["frame2"].document.forms[0].field3.value=document.forms[0].field1.value
