A flaw in the GoToField method?

In an R5 tab'd table, there does not seem to be a way to place the cursor in a required field within one of the tabs or sections from an action button. For example, Notes does not seem to have an "Open Section xyz" method. It has a GoToField method, which is okay if you're in that section or tab. But if your not, there's no way to get you there.

I have worked around this by using a loop to look for the required field, but that causes a lot of screen flicker and it looks incredibly messy.

Is there a better way to do this?
Not sure I know what you mean by using a loop to look for the required field? If you know the field name, why won't the GotoField method of the NotesUIDocument work? Have you looked at the Edit commands in the formula language? Maybe you could come up with some logic to make them work. Sorry I can't be more helpful, I've not tried to do this.
