We want to automize our PC-installation. It already works for the Windows-OS and several programs (Office, etc.) but we have some problems with installing the Notes-Client (R4.66). Is there a way to automatize the installation and maybe also the configuration of the Notes-Client (User-ID, local N&A, Replicas, etc.)?
The Notes client install is not the most easily manipulated install around. I have seen people try to do it with WinBatch, MSI, etc., but it is always a difficult process. You will always have to do the post-install items (user name, etc.) manually, unless you write some script to go out and detach ID files and run the install routine. You could look to a product called Install Pump, but it is expensive, from what I've seen. A reasonable method is to automate the base code install, have a technician run the setup routine, and then have a batch file to modify the notes.ini for all of your preference choices.
