Can I use Formula to get value of category that a doc is in?

A user needs to get the value of the category a document is in, and wants to know if he can get this value using Formula.

I have a multi-value field that is a categorized column in a view, so the same document can appear in multiple categories. In another column in the same view, in order to do a conditional check, I need to get the value of the category it is in. Is there any way to get this value using @formula language? Even if I use @DocParentNumber I still can't use it in any @formulas.
The NotesViewNavigator and NoteViewEntry classes could provide you access to those values. However, I do not know of a way to access the current category through Formula language.
