Can Lotus Notes client be launched from Web page?

This developer wants to know if a Notes client can be launched from a Web page.

Can you launch the Lotus Notes client from a Web page? I saw this suggestion of yours in a previous Ask the Expert question.

I have all the registry settings, but whenever I try to launch a link I get "file does not exist" after opening Notes. Here is a sample of my code:

<a href="Notes://server/mail/
mailfilename.nsf/($Inbox)"&gtMy Mail File</a>

I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have.

The fact that Lotus Notes opens at all is pretty good evidence that your registry settings are okay. This syntax works for me; I have to suspect you have some illegal characters in your URL, e.g., a space. I'm not so sure about the $ in a Web browser context. You need to escape such characters using the %xx notation, e.g., %20 for space.
