Close window button

I'm currently using rNext beta 2 but the question is the same for r5. I'm developing a web application. In the main window, I open a second window with a frameset. I am trying to put in a close window button. According to the doc, the closewindow command brings back the previous page, which is true. So, why can't I use the command? In JavaScript, I tried using the close(), win.close() instructions, but all they did was bring back the previous page, and did not close the window.
Here's some HTML to create a button on your page in a frameset. The code must be HTML Passthrough. The real meat is the onClick event which calls the JavaScript code parent.window.close() or in other words 'close the window of my parent - the frameset'
