How do we configure Notes to achieve the following:
Our domain: xyz.com We plan to send specific SMTP email to an intranet Linux mail server via Notes for some processing. We plan to locate our Linux mail server in a new sub domain: test.xyz.com. The purpose is such that all e-mail to "anyone@test.xyz.com" will be routed to this Linux server (linux.test.xyz.com).
However, we are not allowed to create a subdomain and MX record in the DNS server because it is hosted by other party. Is there any way to configure our Notes server to route STMP e-mail to "test.xyz.com" using linux.test.xyz.com, without DNS involvement?
You could create an entry in the hosts file on the local Domino server with the IP address of the Linux mail server.
