Connecting to Oracle

I want to connect to Oracle. Do I have to install the Oracle client and network components on my workstation/server?

I get a connection error if I try to create a DSN to use LSX or ODBC. I thought if I used ADODB I wouldn't have to install anything.

I am not sure what version of Domino you are using, or Oracle, but I have never been able to successfully connect to an Oracle database via the methods you mentioned without having the Oracle client installed on the system making the call.
