Domino Developer considering Java Certification
I am a Domino Developer with two years experience. I know JavaScript and HTML and am now considering Java Certification. Long term I would like to work more and more with Java. Is this a good career strategy? What are my chances of being hired as a Java/Web developer once I have achieved Java certification?
JAVA certification and experience is an excellent career track, but it may be a long term project. There is a great number of jobs for someone with JAVA and Domino now, but not as many for a straight JAVA Developer. 18 months from now there should be much more demand. If you jump on this career track now, you should be able to increase your earnings and skills as a Domino Developer and next year make the move to a JAVA job with another increase in salary.
