I have a user that has made an archive of their old email. However, that archive has reached its initial size limit of 1 GB. When he tries to open it, the message asks the user to make a new replica and to recreate it using a larger size. When I try that, it says the same thing. Do you know of a work around? Notes client is 5.0.4.
You could try to compact the database. If it fails on the client, copy the file to a server and try it from a command line. You need to get the file under 1 GB before you will be able to compact it into R5 ODS and allow it to grow to over 1 GB.
