E-mail to hundred of recipients via Internet returning error

When sending mail to a group of about 150 members via the Internet, we get the following error message:

Router: Message 0052AF67 NOT transferred via SMTP to RELAY.VERIOMAIL.COM for Xxxxxx@aol.com from Xxxxx Xxxxx/TSM_GOL@TSM_GOL Size: 13K 400 SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error
This occurs somewhere after the first message and then on the balance. After some time the Notes server tries again and sends out more and eventually gives us the error again. The whole process takes several hours but they all eventually get out. This does, however, delay our normal outgoing mail.

Our ISP says the only limit they have is 250 per batch and that we could follow up immediately with another batch of 250.

Do you have any idea where I should look for this? Does it sound like a Notes configuration error? Thanks.
No, it doesn't sound like a Domino error -- the error is being generated by the receiving end, in this case Veriomail.com. You could turn on mail debugging to see if it will give you some more detailed information; but, in any case, you need to pursue this with your ISP.
