Execute classes that are in .zip files

I have deployed a number of servlets on the Domino server, but I am struggling to execute any classes that are in .zip files. (I receive class not found errors). When the class files are unzipped, it all works fine. It is inconvenient to maintain numerous class files rather than one zip. How do I get Domino to recognize the class files in a zip file?
I suggest that you try using .jar files instead of .zip files.
