Exports from BAPI/RFC are empty--restricted from returning data?

I am using the SAP premium connector to connect from R5 using LCLSX to SAP R/3. I am calling a BAPI/RFC, passing some imports and expecting exports. I get the exports back from the RFC, but they are all empty. The select statement seems right and the record that I am supposed to get back should have valid data. My question is that even though I have RFC access to SAP, could I still be restricted from seeing or returning data? The SAP admins say my access is wide open. I can send the code if needed.
You might be on track with the security question, however, I think you would get an error from the RFC call rather than an empty result set. Have you tried running the RFC from the ABAP Workbench with the same input parameters as you are passing via the LC LSX? That is certainly the first and best place to test any calls you plan to make from outside SAP. Also, double check that the RFC is "Remote Callable".
