Extra large Notes log file

I am currently administering a Domino 6.51 box in a small environment. I have noticed that our Notes log file grows very large over a couple of days. For instance, yesterday I renamed the log file to log.old and restarted the server with a new log and today the log file is up to 300mb. We only have about 150 users. Any ideas?
You need to see what you are logging. What logging level are you set at in the configuration document of the server? Verbose is too much; informational should be sufficient. Also, make sure there are no debug parameters in your notes.ini that are writing to the log.
