Field won't preview properly in Notes browser

I am a new Application Developer in Notes. Question? I am trying to use the %include statement in the global declarations of a form using a .lss file. I created the the .lss file myself using notepad, I am defining a field as such "Public Const COMPANY_NAME$ = "MY COMPANY NAME." without the quotes. I have a field setup to hold this value, but when I preview in the notes browser, all I get is a 1. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

You DO need to use quotes around the value if it is a text value. Are you aware that this will not work on a user's workstation that does not also have the custom .lss file in the correct directory? This would not be recommended because of this.
