Find out if a field has an attachment

I need to a way to know whether a specific field holds an attachment. I'm using Notes 4.6.3b.

You can use the EmbeddedObjects property of NotesRichTextItem. This will return an array of OLE objects AND file attachments. It does NOT distinguish between the two. You can then traverse this array and test the type of each of these objects for item.ATTACHMENT. Look at the Notes help for Embedded Objects for a further explanation of how to work with them.
