Scenario: Domino 5.0.2a (unique) and all Notes Clients.
We added an SMTP/POP3 user (all previous users are NOTES users) to support a fax server installation (the SMTP/POP3 user is required to forward faxes via email).
At the moment, the faxes are forwarded correctly except the ones directed outside our domain. I've read docs about SMTP relay and inbound/outbound controls and I verified the setting in the Configuration document of the server.
Besides the fact that I'm *very* new at Domino Administration, the problem is that I'm not sure about the settings in the Configuration document (I'm not the person who installed Domino here). Our settings in Router/SMTP - Restrictions and Controls - SMTP inbound controls are "*" on each "deny" setings and this seems to work fine with regard to the SPAM problem (no relay).
My question: What should I check to allow the fax account to be able to send e-mail out of our domain?
For now, you can enter the IP address of the fax server, allowing it to relay in the SMTP Inbound controls section of the configuration document. This problem goes away in Domino 6 as there are separate settings for various protocols! Something to look forward to.
