HTML program that runs a scheduled agent on a server using LotusScript

My company is stuck in R5 and may never move on to ND6. I have been asked to develop an HTML e-mail program that runs in a scheduled agent on a server using LotusScript. This agent will grab the rich text content of some documents and somehow convert this to HTML Mime and send it on to a list of subscribers. Can you help, or point me in the right direction?
The R5 mailer already has the ability to convert rich text into MIME. You just need to make sure your mailer settings are correctly configured to do this (talk to your Domino administrator). Then you don't have to do the conversion -- just mail the memos with the rich text still in them, and let the mailer do the hard work for you.
