I have a problem with an embedded view on a form. I have a form and in it, I had an embedded view that will display the view based on the user name and the company's name that they have to chose.
- Can I have the embedded view display the view immediately after they choose the company name? Currently, it gives me a blank space. Above the embedded view, I had a table to update the view.
- Can I automatically update the view with this additional data that I just entered to be seen on that embedded view?
If I understand correctly, you have a Notes form that contains an embedded view and a keyword field where the user can select a company. This field is used in a Single Category formula to control which company's documents are displayed. You want the view contents to be refreshed instantly when the user selects a different company.
If it's a "normal" keyword field, you can do this by selecting the field option "Refresh fields on keyword change."
However, if it's a "Use view dialog for choices," the refresh will not happen automatically. In that case, you would need a timer event on the form to periodically check whether the value had changed and, if so, refresh the form. Read about the NotesTimer class in the Domino Designer help.
