Q

How can I migrate to a server whose IP address and name will change?

I have a Lotus Domino version 5 installed to my old server, and I'm planning to transfer or migrate my Lotus Domino server to the new server. My problem is, my new server's IP address and server name will be changed. How will I do the transferring?
Your problems are easily handled via DNS. If you change the record in DNS for your Domino server name to the new IP and host name, everything will be seamless. If you do not use DNS and are using host files, then you will need to change every host file to point to the new IP and machine name. This is precisely why you should not use host files.
