How can users get all their e-mails from a Web page login?

I am developing a Web page and my database is a mail-in database for easy access of e-mails. Users have to log to my Web page and depending on the user login, there is a link (view) that will display all the e-mails of that certain user. I tried creating a new view with a selection formula using @V3Username, but it won't work. How can I solve this?
I would probably create a view, let's call it allmailcatbyname. Let the first column contain the username; let the column be sorted and categorized. In the next columns you can display the subject or whatever you need. Then access the view with a URL like this: http: + "//insert proper path/database.nsf/allmailbycatname?openview&restricttocategory=" + @username. The user will not see the first column -- he will only see the mail documents that are within the category that is his username.
