I have a Domino server running under AIX and would like to integrate with Oracle using Oracle connectors via LotusScript. Are they available free, and from where do you download them? Is it easy to install and configure? Do you have to have an Oracle client on the Domino server?
The "LC LSX" API and the LC Connector for Oracle come with Domino at no additional cost, so they are probably already installed on your server (if not, you should reinstall and select the "DECS" option). There are actually two Oracle connectors in the latest Domino releases: "oracle" supports up to version 7.34 and 8.05, and "oracle8" supports versions 8.05, 8i, and 9i.
You do need the Oracle client software installed on the server also. Alternately you could use the LC Connector for ODBC ("odbc2") in conjunction with the DataDirect driver for Oracle from IBM.
The LEI Redbook contains a long chapter that introduces the LC LSX. The Domino Designer 6 Help contains more details and is useful for reference once you've gotten started. If you don't have ND6, you can read this help on the Lotus Web site.
