Invalid or Nonexistent Document after upgrade

We have recently upgraded all our servers and workstations from 4.6 to R5. Now when we open some up our databases... we receive the warning pop-up message "Invalid or Nonexistent Document". Once we click "OK".. it lets us in to the database. This happens only on some of our databases.

Unfortunately, this message can have many causes and it's not easy to track down. I would check the following:

1. The database icon on the desktop is corrupt. Delete the icon and then reopen the database.
2. Check the Launch properties of the databaase and verify what is trying to be launched. Make certain the indicated design element exists and the user has access.
3. The users has access to views in the database, especially the default view.
4. The desktop itself is corupt. First, try compacting the desktop. Then delete it and recreate it (make a backup first)
