Is it possible to add a Readers field to documents already created?

Hi Chuck,

Currently we have documents which were created with a Readers field only allowing the user to view the documents. I have added a role to the Readers field. Is it possible to add the role to the documents already created? I currently can not open those documents up. If possible how do I go about it? Also the information is imported. When I import will the documents have the Reader field on them? Any input is appreciated.

Best regards,
Hello Renee,

Reader fields are not enforced during local database access. So, go to the machine that holds the database, use an ID that has at least Editor access to the database, and you should be able to see all the documents. You can then write a simple agent to modify the Reader field of selected documents so they contain the new role. Go to an appropriate view, select the old documents, and run the agent.

I am not sure how you are doing the import, but you probably will have to add the new role to the Reader field during the import process.
