Is there a way to 'invite a room' from another Notes database?

Is there a way to "invite a room" from another Notes database? What is the process and what fields need to be included in a mailed doc to that room, requesting that it be reserved (outside of the mail file)?
You might investigate the Domino collaboration objects, which I believe provides a way to program this functionality in Java.

Otherwise, when you "invite a room" from the mail file, you're already doing it from "another" Notes database -- your mail file is not the same database as the room reservation database. The same code that the mail application uses to reserve a room could be used in any application. However, since the code is tied in with the meeting invitation form, it might be difficult to pick out just what you want.

Have a look at the "New Reservation" form in the resource reservation database. You should be able to copy this form to other databases and have it work there -- except that you would have to mail it in to the resource reservation database, and you might want to steal parts off the calendar form in the mail application so that it finds the right resource reservation database in which to look up the free time.
