Q

Mail coming in from Internet mail accounts stalls

I can send mail from Notes to a personal Internet mail account and the message will arrive within minutes. If I send a message from one of my personal Internet mail accounts, (depending on the mail account) it can take from a few minutes to a few days before I receive the message from the Internet.

  • From Yahoo.com messages come in almost immediately.
  • From Excite.com it takes 24 hours or more for the message to be delivered.
  • From MyWay.com messages come in within a couple of hours.
  • From Sunflower.com messages come in almost immediately.
  • From Hotmail.com it takes days and sometimes the message is not delivered at all.
Yet mail will go to all these places within minutes. What is happening?
It all depends on the Internet mail provider and the rules they have for sending mail out and routing. I have had the same experience with Hotmail and Excite.
