Mail problem after upgrading

Since I've upgraded my Domino server from 4.6 to 5.11 on Windows 2000 environment 3 months ago, some users got problem while sending message to internet. The recipient got a .ond file attached on mail. I have read several documents from this forum and have taken the steps recomended, like checking on the MTA section, see users' do on sending mail etc, but the problem still happens. I'm getting desperate with this problem, because it's not as simple as another administrators said it was.
I don't know the details of the steps you have already taken, but, I would suggest that you check the Server Configuration document for the SMTP server. Check the Message Content Field which is located on the Outbound Tab, under the Conversion Options tab, on the MIME tab. You will probably find that it is set for "Create multi-part alternative including conversion and encapsulation". This will cause the result you are finding. Change this field to "Convert from Notes to Internet message format" and it should solve your problem.
