Mail server upgrade results in too many alerts

After upgrading our mail servers from 5.11 to 6.53, we have had to disable one of our event probes for security because the number of alerts generated was more than the event memory pool could handle. I looked at the users' Notes clients and saw that they were not replicating with the mail file that was giving the ATTEMPT TO ACCESS DATABASE error.

Here's a sample of the alerts. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

447: 02/09/2005 10:50:43 AM ATTEMPT TO ACCESS DATABASE mail2benefits.nsf by Donna Gannon/MC/MinoltaUS was denied

905: 02/09/2005 10:53:43 AM ATTEMPT TO ACCESS DATABASE mail2egurrier.nsf by Douglas Castro/MC/MinoltaUS was denied

I'm not sure how busy your server is, but my guess here is that people are trying to query other people's calendars (actually look at them to check availability) and they do not have the proper authority to do so.
