Mailboxes open slowly when IP address is in server field of location setting

When I use an IP address in a server field of the location setting, the client will take a very long time to open the mailbox, but if I put the server name directly in there, it's okay. I don't know why the IP address is causing the database to open so slowly. Do you have any ideas?
Since I cannot see your clients' TCP/IP settings, I cannot tell you why it is taking a long time to resolve the server. However, it is a best practice to put DNS names in all documents. The reason is that you want to manage everything from a global perspective in the most efficient manner. Using IP addresses will result in problems or delays if you change IP addresses of any server or host. Often, you would have to restart the server. However, if you have DNS names in your server docs, connection docs, etc., IP changes can often be transparent, as your DNS server will handle the change for you.
