Manipulating the replication and form of profile documents

SearchDomino.com's expert Brian Mahoney explains how to work around the default replication and form parameters of profile documents, so that the master copy can be different than the local replica.

I don't want my Lotus Notes profile documents to get replicated. I would like my profile documents in the master copy to be different from those in the local replica. So, I tried "select form != "ProfileDocument" as a replication formula. Unfortunately, this is not working. Do you have any suggestions?

Profile documents will replicate; and unless you use a form to create them and store the form value in the document, they won't have form.

Assuming the current profile key is based on username, you can get around this by changing your profile document to include the username and server as the key to the document.
