PC's lock up when user accepts new certificate

We are running R5.03 on our Notes clients, and R5.05 on the Domino NT servers. We are in the process of changing over our user's certifiers to new ones, but we are experiencing a lot of problems with the PC's locking up when the user attempts to accept the new certificate. We literally have thousands of end-users that we need to change from the old certifiers to the new ones. (Most of these users were originally registered in R4x.) Do you have any suggestions, solutions, or work-arounds that could help us out? Any help will be most appreciated!
I have never seen this problem before. I would suggest looking at the client workstations. Are you running Novell on them? How about single-sign on? Something is conflicting with the ID, and I would guess it is another process that is hooking into the ID file.
