Actually, the people view is probably not your best choice. The names in the people view appear in the format: 'lastname, firstname'. My name would appear only as 'Mahoney, Brian' . I would use the view "($NamesFieldLookup)". this view lists people by variations of their name. I appear under three entries: "brian mahoney"; "brian mahoney/domain"; and "bmahoney". This view is more likely to find the name as it is entered in the field.
Additionally, I would wait to do the lookup until the document is being saved, so that you know the name field has been populated. A possible formula for the form's phonefield might be: @IF( @IsDocBeingSaved; @DbLookup ("" : "NoCache" ; "" : "names.nsf" ; "($NamesFieldLookup)" ; formsnamefield ; NABphonefield ); formphonefield )
