Pre-populating the e-mail body field

My company uses Notes for our e-mail system. I am developing an application using ASP.NET that must generate a confirmation e-mail back to the user. The problem that I have been struggling with for two weeks now is how to automatically launch the user's e-mail and pre-populate the e-mail address, subject and body.

Using a simple Mailto:myaddress?subject=blah&body=blahblah works fine for this task except for one, incredibly frustrating thing -- all characters are removed in the body so it ends up as one big long string. I have tried many, many different things like using %0%A and I have yet to solve this issue. Does ANYONE know how to get around this?

The correct escape code for the new line would be %0D%0A. There is an issue that Internet Explorer will not translate this properly when executing the mailto link.
