The user got the following error message: HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - RRV bucket is corrupt. This mail file cannot be opened in both Notes or Web. I tried to run the 'fixup' utility but it does not work. I am unable to perform any database administration tasks (replica, refresh design, replace design etc...) We are running domino server 5.05.
First some background. RRV stands for Record Relocation Vector. It is a pointer that tells Notes where to find a specific NoteID. When this corrupts, you don't have many options that I know. You can try all of the usual fixes, but they don't usually work, as you have found out. Sometimes you can get lucky with a design refresh or replace. It looks like you didn't. The only other task I could suggest would be a compact. Other than that, maybe try the mail file convert task. You can try that with the server both running, or with it down and from a DOS prompt. Otherwise, you will have to go to a backup tape.
