Recert requirements for Notes 6 and demand for Notes 6 certified experts

Hi, Barbara. Will the requirements for recertification in Notes 6 change within the next few months? I'm currently an R5 CLP in Admin and Development. But I don't know whether the upgrade path has a deadline like version 4.6 did. Also, has there been a large demand for Notes 6 certified experts in the market? Or should I start looking into WebSphere instead?
There are no changes planned for the Notes and Domino 6 certification path. There is no deadline for the upgrade either, so we recommend that candidates certify on R5 and then upgrade simply with the single required upgrade exam. This would leave you with two certifications -- always a plus.

I think demand is very regional -- some areas report resurgence in Notes jobs, while others lag. This is not uncommon in an economic recovery.

Concerning your question about WebSphere -- all studies and surveys on certifications show that the more broad your skills and certifications, the more money you make. So, I would begin to check into WebSphere. If you go the Lotus Training and Certification site, you'll see our J2EE skills roadmap, which will give you an idea of how to get started.
