Repair names.nsf file from Lotus Notes client

My names.nsf file is corrupt and using Lotus notes client on a Windows machine. Is there any way to repair names.nsf file from Lotus Notes client. If yes, how? Any help is appreciated.

There are two things you can try

  1. Notes / File / Database / New Copy. This can sometimes clear up corrupted documents as the new database is created.
  2. Domino Administrator / Files / Database / Fixup. You can do this with a local file.

Close the lotus note client. From a command prompt, navigate to your Data directory. Then enter the following:

NotesProgramDirectory\nfixup.exe names.nsf -F -J

Where "NotesProgramDirecotry" is replaced with the path to your Notes Program Directory (default is c:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes). Then, run the following with the same assumption:

NotesProgramDirectory\ncompact.exe names.nsf -c -i

You can try “Stellar Phoenix Lotus Notes Recovery” to recover data from a corrupt nsf file. The tool let you repair your nsf file data  such as: emails, contacts, calendar entries, notes, journals etc. from the corrupt nsf file. You can save the recovered mailbox items at any desired location.

The tool is available with free demo. For more info visit:
