Replicating profile docs when choosing selective replication

How can I replicate profile documents when I choose selective replication?
Profile documents are a pain, partly for this reason. I prefer to make my own, per the following steps:
  1. Create a hidden (or visible) view called ProfileDocs (or something like that).
  2. Create a form called Profile (or something like that).
The form only has two fields: ItemName and ItemValue, both are text fields. Now you can store anything you want in the profile docs, they will replicate and you can retrieve them when you want. You can get fancier by adding time or number fields, or a "name" field, so each person can have a separate set of profile docs.
