Setting up 'if/then' logic among three computed fields

I am new to Lotus and trying to develop a student profiling system. I have created three fields -- subject field, pass field and the remodule field. I am trying to achieve the following:

If the student fails a subject, the remodule field should reflect the subject in which he failed.

The logic that I am trying to establish is:

If Pass != Pass
  then display Subject

This should be a computed field -- hence, the user need not manually do this. I appreciate if you can help me with this. Thank you.
I think you want the 'remodule' field to be populated with the value of the subject field if the value of the pass field is 'Pass.' If that is the case, you could use the following code in the remodule field and have it set to computed.

 @IF(Pass = "Pass";

This says: If the field Pass has a Value of "Pass," then set the field value to ""; otherwise, set it to the value in subject.
