I am a CLP R4 System Administration. Is it worth getting R5 certification?
This really depends on your own experience and expertise, in addition to your commitment to Continuing Certification.
The "Upgrade Path" from Notes R4 through to the impending Notes Rnext release would be easier to follow for someone who has experience with Notes R5, since you are only going to be examined on the "New" material covered within each release.
If you have no R5 experience, you may want to consider skipping directly to Rnext, although at this stage it appears as though there will only be an upgrade path from R5 to Rnext. Therefore, you will need to re-certify from 'scratch' with the new product.
A note here about the product. Lotus has made noises about retiring Notes R4 support, which means the R4 certification path will most likely also be retired. If that is the case, there will only be R5 and Rnext certification.
With the mix of R4 and R5 pretty close in the deployed environment I would seriously consider at least upgrading to R5 to maintain your certification.
