I would like to show only the documents of the current year in a view, but without using the @now function, since the view is then actualised permanently. Using a profile document for storing the current year semms to be no solution, since the Selection formula does not support the @getprofilefield?
The best way to do this so the view doesn't recalculate continually is to have an agent process all the documents in the view on a periodic basis (daily, weekly monthly) and set a field on each document to exclude it from the view. Change the view selection criteria so that it excludes documents where the field has a value -- so before the field is populated, it will stay in the view. You can use this to keep a rolling 365 days or 13 months in the view.
