Q

Show document collections in a view

I'm trying to generate a view of some selected documents using a script, which is in an other document. Until now, the script could select the wanted documents as a document collection. Now I want to show these document collections a view (in an existing or in a new). Can you help or have some idea?

There is no way to display a document collection generated by code in an actual view. On the Web, you could generate your own view by looping through the collection and generating the HTML necessary to display the documents in a tabular format. This can be very handy because you can generate the view in any format that you like. In the Notes client, you have two choices: You can loop through the collection and display the underlying fields that you are interested in a field on a form, simulating a view to some limited degree. Alternatively, you can loop through the collection and add the documents to a folder using the PutInFolder method of the NotesDocument class.
