I have been doing Lotus Notes for only 8 months, but my learning curve have been very good. I have acquired lots of knowledge having hands on experience in Web development using Lotus Domino R5.
I am currently doing Web application for web browsers with Domino Designer. My problem is the site was built entirely on pages. I have problem when creating a search so the result of a FTsearch will look into pages and provide a link so the user can click and go to that page.
Thank you for your feedback sir.
You can't make the indexer index pages.
There's a number of possible paths you could follow to fix your problem. The most obvious ones:
- Leave the Pages-based design :-)
- Create an agent that creates one document per page and copy the contents from the page to the document. When you create your search feature, you should let the search results? URLs point to the pages instead of to the documents ? you could do this by making sure that pages and documents share a common key (which should probably be the page name). In the Sandbox on www.notes.net you should do a search on "Katz" -- you will find a script library that lets you access design elements and their contents, which should make it possible for you to get a handle on pages and the text on the pages.
